“40 Days of Prayer”- Week Two

Dear Friends;

Do you ever get frustrated trying to do something and nothing seems to work?  It’s easy just to throw up your hands and give up.  At that point, you can either quit for good or get help.  Wise people know when they need help and ask for it.

What about prayer?  Do you ever get frustrated?  Have you ever wondered if there is a difference between prayers that work and prayers that don’t?  We know that God hears all prayers, but I think how he responds to us is based on specific factors.

This Sunday we will look at someone who’s prayers worked and are recorded in scripture.  That someone is King David.  By examining some of his prayers, and looking at the results, I believe we can gain greater insight into praying prayers that God wants to hear and to answer.

Hope to see you Sunday!

PREPARING FOR SUNDAY: SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

We are starting our second week of 40 Days of Prayer, this Sunday during Sunday School and Small Group hour we will be studying Session Two, pages 39-48 in the 40 Days of Prayer Book. The small groups on Wednesday evening and Small Groups throughout our community will also be studying Session Two this week. Don’t forget to do your daily prayer journal after each session, this will help you focus on what God has to say to you each week during your prayer time. It can be a big blessing to your week.

If you haven’t plugged into a small group as of yet, please check the list in the foyer by the church office and find one that fits your schedule.
If you would like to host a small group, contact the church office by calling 360.864.2550 or email to office@toledofirstbaptist.com

If you haven’t picked up your prayer book yet, we just got a new shipment of books in, they are available in the foyer of the church.
