Joyce Happenings – April Newsletter

Hey everybody! It’s been a while, and we are just checking in from home here in England. God is amazing, and it continues to be a pleasure to serve Him in YWAM. We are excited with all that’s happening and what God’s been doing. It’s been a busy but exciting year here at The King’s Lodge

Rick is heading up the Training Department and loving every aspect of his job. One of our Discipleship Training Schools  just returned and finished well. They sent out two outreach teams, one to Peru and another to Chile. Both teams came back brimming with stories of God’s grace and provision, of churches blessed, working with street kids, street evangelism, and hungry and needy people meeting Jesus. Our English for Mission school that just finished spent a month and a half doing outreach in a couple of cities here in the Midlands of England, beginning with a Narnia Experience that drew people in through the wardrobe and told the Gospel story in a creative interactive format. Aslan was definitely on the move! It was so appealing that over 750 people came through the show, many of whom had never heard the Gospel, and many who were Muslim.

This rich study is giving them so much perspective, life, and new relationship with God!Next week, when the new term begins, we are launching a school that is brand new for us – the Discipleship Bible School. This hybrid between a Discipleship school and one of our upper level Bible schools is much more application-based, and most of the work takes place in the setting of small groups. We believe that this school is going to change the whole atmosphere at the King’s Lodge as little discussions about the Bible pop up all over the campus day by day.

In January, Kai, Sue’s mum, called and said she was a bit lonely Sooo…Sue jumped on a plane and headed to Hawaii for three weeks! It was a great time catching up, drinking coffee, working at the food bank, volunteering for school programs, enjoying church and getting some much needed sunshine.

Since returning she has continued her project work around the Lodge, and doing one to one ministry to a few of the women on campus who find themselves in difficult times. She has such a pastoral heart!
