An Open Letter to the TFBC Congregation Regarding the Coronavirus Outbreak

Dear Friends,

I want to share with you my deep concern for you and your family. These are challenging times and there is much confusion and fear due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I want you to know that I am neither confused nor afraid of this serious disease. I am clear-minded and confident that we must do all we can to keep all of our people as safe as possible.

As your pastoral leaders, we are more committed to keeping you around than following our usual practice and schedule. After consulting with the doctors (Dr. McElhaney and Dr. Faloon) in our church and praying together as a staff, we all agree that we must do what is best over what we had planned. We have many individuals in our congregation who are especially at risk from this potentially deadly virus and meeting in large congregational groups puts many of them in serious danger all at once.

We want to help you stay as strong as you can, as long as you can, to do all the good you can. If we all get sick at once we can’t help each other or our neighbors. To avoid spreading the virus to large groups simultaneously, we will not be having Sunday services, Wednesday night programming or any other previously scheduled meetings for the next two weeks. We will reevaluate the situation on March 26th.

We will have Sunday services online and hope to offer other video content during the week. You can access these by visiting our YouTube channel at the following link: TFBC YouTube or on our webpage at www.tfbc.church.

We also want you to contact us if you need anything or know of a need. This will be especially true if you know people are sick and need prayer. We will continue to call and check on people as we go through this challenging time.

Many have asked about online giving. You can do so by clicking this link: TFBC Giving. Please remember many people will need extra financial support as this crisis continues. Please consider giving a special gift for these needs along with your regular tithe. We want to meet all the needs we can and will do this better together.

If you have any questions or concerns, the office staff will be available to take calls at the church (360) 864-2550 as will the pastors on their cell phones.

Please know our goal is to slow the spread of this virus so that fewer people are exposed. Please pray for us as well as the rest of the TFBC family.

We all look forward to when we can all gather together again safely.

We love you,
Pastor Joe
