Re-Learning Church: Church as Family

People sometimes refer to their church family. This can reflect a deeper understanding of what church is. It may also reflect the health of their idea of what family is.

The word family means different things to people. For some families, it’s founded on a deep bond of loving faithfulness. For other families it’s distant and loyalty is conditional on whether expectations are met.

When God pictures church as family he is inviting us to learn what His idea of family is.

This weekend I will share six characteristics of church as family.

We can help re-family each other God’s way if we can relearn church this way.
