Why Church Matters: 10 Ways to Serve

The hard thing about serving is the serving involved. Yet serving is good for us. It is by intentional serving we learn humility hardiness and the path to happiness. One reason you should go to a worship service as well as a class is so you can learn to serve God by serving others.

You may wonder where  can I start. This Sunday I will show you ten ways you can serve now!
Each path can be done both within or outside the church building, as part of our direct ministry or as a part of your broader community. To you who are already serving thank you. To you who are ready to get back in service come and see how you can help.

Let’s do this together.

Blessings,
Joe

Mat 5:16  “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Ways you can preparing for Sunday

  • By praying for the service and all who will attend.
  • Plan to attend a preaching service and a class.
  • Prayerfully read and consider the following questions.

SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

  • Share an experience of how someone served you or someone else with food?
  • What are ways to invite people into your life and into your church?
  • Describe how you have been comforted or been able to comfort others through God’s grace.

2 Co 1:3-4  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

  • How can God use your training or prayer life to bring healing to others?

Luke 10:33-35 “But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.  On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’”

  • Share an example of how someone’s service for Christ could be outside a direct church ministry?
  • What is something you have taught? How could you teach Christ while teaching this?
  • How can God use your house to serve others? I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

1 Peter 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint.

  • Who is the person you know who telling them about Christ would serve them best?
