Seeing God in the World – Guest Speaker: Tim Gillihan
Dear Friends,
I am really looking forward to seeing you this Sunday. As we follow Christ we learn to see His activity and then join Him. One of the amazing things God has been doing in our church is how He has added Tim, Joan and also Letha to our church. Tim and Joan are IMB workers who are heading to an assignment in southern Europe. They have been with us teaching and training us to see the world as God does.
Also, Letha is going to be with us through the summer. Letha is working among unreached peoples. What she does is part of an amazing effort to take the message to places that have yet to hear. Her work is dangerous and incredibly important.
This Sunday I will share about seeing God’s work in the world. Most of what we hear will be from Tim as He tells us how we can partner with them in God’s world wide effort to make Christ known.
Here is a note from Tim and Joan:
“What a privilege to follow Christ together in a community of faith. Joan and I have been so blessed by this community called First Baptist Church of Toledo. We depart this next week for a new 3-4 year assignment in Athens, Greece. We will be serving with a team ministering among Persian peoples mainly from Iran and Afghanistan.
Our desire is to stay connected with all of you in this church. Would you continue to bless us as you remember and pray for us even though you won’t see us for some time? It would really encourage us to hear that your faith is continuing to grow as you take the next steps in following Jesus.
Where is it that God wants you to go with Him that you have never gone before? Would you commit to pray for Joan and me? Would you pray for the Persian people we will touch who are not yet followers of Jesus?
Let’s come this Sunday ready to follow Jesus where He wants us to follow Him. Hebrews 12:1-2. What will it cost you and me to fully follow Jesus? Also, what is the price of not following Jesus and living in disobedience? Join with me this Sunday as we look at God’s word and let it challenge and change us.
