Encouragement-“The Work We Do”

Dear Friends,

When it comes to encouragement it’s hard to know where to start. What are we to be like? What are we to do?

This Sunday I will teach about four things the Holy Spirit does through people He fills.

These four things are so easy to spot and put into practice you will be able to start encouraging immediately.

Please plan to be present since being beside others is a big part of practicing.

Bring some friends. I promise it will be encouraging!

Can’t wait to see you.

Blessings,

Joe.

PREPARING FOR SUNDAY: SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Preparing for Sunday-July 7, 2019

Please consider the following questions and scriptures.

What made Barnabas so encouraging to others?

Act 4:36 Now Joseph, a Levite of Cyprian birth, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement),

Act 4:37 and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

How could what he did be encouraging?

Who has been a Barnabas for you?

Describe what they did and how it affected you.

What is the main way God encourages us?

Acts 27:34 “Therefore I encourage you to take some food, for this is for your preservation, for not a hair from the head of any of you will perish.”

Colossians 4:8 For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

1Thesalionians 3:2 and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you as to your faith,

1Thesalionians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

What are other ways God uses others to do the work of encouragement?

What is something you can do today to practice encouragement?

How can an encourager save some one’s life?

How can we pray for you?
