Joyce Happenings – Christmas Letter 2017

Merry Christmas One and All!

Sue and I are doing very well. Our house-sitting job here in High Wycombe is peaceful and wonderful, and we are getting a lot done day by day. We would appreciate your continued prayer for us as we consider what God would have us do next. We are thinking, praying, and talking about that a lot, and continue to be expectant of hearing His voice leading us onward. We don’t really recommend it if it can be helped! We love each other’s company, but really, on that day you want to have your family all around you to celebrate with the joy of Jesus.

This year, we are excited to not only have the opportunity to have Alex and Dani, Phil and Abbey with us on the day, but we also are house-sitting in a largish house near London. This means that we won’t all be jammed into our little flat at the King’s Lodge like pickles in a pickle jar! We are so looking forward to getting together! If only Anna, Anders, and Kaeli could be with us it would be perfect!

Many of you have asked us to let you know if any needs came up that you could help us with. We do have a need at the minute, and I’d like to share it with you. Our car recently failed its annual checkup and it would cost us in the neighborhood of £500-600 to have it repaired and on the road again. It is an older car and has quite a few miles on it, so it is not worth the repairs. In fact, at the minute, it is sitting in the driveway with a dead battery! Thus, we need to get another car, and we need it this week. I know it is not a great time of year, but if any of you would like to help, we would be blessed. Maybe you need an end-of-year tax deduction? Thank you for considering!

We have just celebrated 37 years of wedded bliss! Being married to your best friend is the best thing in the world! We highly recommend it.

Thank you, one and all for your prayers! We would love to hear from each of you. Our donation details are listed below. The quickest way to get money to us is the PayPal link, but it also costs the most in fees. If you need the US tax deduction, the church in Toledo is the way to get that. Thank you all so much, and we pray you’ll all have a wonderful holiday season!

Love,
Rick and Sue
