Seeing Mothers and Children

I hope you have made plans to honor the mothers in your life Sunday. I am trying to give you a little reminder that Sunday is MOTHER’S DAY!

We live in a country that celebrates mother’s Day but often doesn’t celebrate mothers and children. We have become a culture that pays more attention to pets than kids.  God says following Him means sharing his view on what is most important.

Mat 18:1-7  At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 “Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 “And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!

How opposite our view of greatness is to the Lord we claim to follow. As God’s people it’s time for us to start  seeing the Jesus way. It is essential that we don’t under value the job of mothers and the priority of children’s needs as does the rest of this culture. This Sunday I will speak on seeing mothers and children. We all need to rethink how we can help mothers as they seek to raise their children with Christ’s blessing.
