Seeing God Through Prayer

Dear friends,

People come to salvation one person at a time. It matters if people know Christ. It matters if they are ready for eternity…  these thoughts come painfully into focus when we hear the news of young people killed tragically in a car crash.

  • When we hear of a dad dying of a heart attack.
  • When we attend the funeral of an old friend.

I believe the Gospel of eternal life matters.  I believe telling this good news to others can change eternity. This is the reason we provide camps and ministries to kids.  Because eternity matters so much, I want to remind you to pray.  Pray for opportunity and courage to share the good news with others.  Pray for Sunday’s message as you invite your friend’s.  Pray for our kid’s camp that begins Monday.  We want to help people be better human beings, but more than that, we want them ready for eternity.

This Sunday’s message is titled,  Seeing God through Prayer.  The verse I want you to pray is from the Psalms.

Psa 90:16-17, Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

When we pray, we see God’s work and our faith grows. I am praying you will make gathering this Sunday a priority. As we do we can pray and see God work.

Blessings, Joe

Please prayerfully consider the following scriptures and questions.

  1. Why does prayer so easily get forgotten?
  2. What are ways you can make prayer central in your family culture?  Share an example.
  3. What are things you should always ask for?

Jas 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Isa 40:31, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

    1Th 3:12, and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;

  4. How should we pray for our unbelieving friends?

Eph 1:18, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

Act 26:18, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’

  5. How should we pray for our children?

Psa 90:16, Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children.

  6. Please share an example of how God revealed himself to you through prayer.
  7. How can we pray for you now?
